Diet vs. Cadbury Mini Eggs:

So at work we are doing a dieting challenge where we have to create a set of rules to follow for a month in hopes of training ourselves to eat better and ultimately lose weight.  In efforts to participate in this challenge, I created a plethora of rules that I could apply to my everyday habits, and just for the heck of it added in “I will not eat candy”.  I thought this rule was an obvious shoo-in since I don’t really have a sweet tooth and rarely indulge in a sweet treat.  Silly me, little did I know, I was creating this rule about 2.5 seconds before all the Easter candy was loaded onto the shelves of every drug/grocery store in America.  Everywhere I turn, all I can see is Cadbury Mini Eggs, which might as well be called “God’s Gift to Candy”.  I literally walked around the store for about 15 minutes (after I was ready to check out) trying to figure out how I could get around this humungous barricade.  Then it dawned on me, Cadbury Mini EGGS….eggs aren’t candy, eggs are protein…in fact, isn’t chocolate protein filled too?  The more I thought about it the better the idea was sounding.  I mean sure, I would be breaking one measly rule, but I would be eating chocolate eggs…little miniature chocolate filled pieces of heaven.  Who could really disagree with this logic?!  Certainly, not I!

About erinHasThoughts

I just started eHT in January of 2011, and I'm shocked and humbled that people read it! For some reason it seems like I am always in the most ridiculous situations and witness things only seen in movies, so I like to share my experiences with all of you. Thanks for reading! xo
