Things that are not ok part 2

Recently while driving around my hometown it has come to my attention that there is a family who has decided to erect a swing set in their front yard.  Seriously.  Their front yard.  I don’t know how other people feel about this, but this is just totally not ok.  In addition to this just being a tacky lawn ornament right in front of your house, isn’t part of the point of having a home-playground to keep your children safe somewhere?  So do we really think that putting a freaking swing set in your front yard 10 feet from the street a great idea?  um no…what happens when they have a competition (such as 1..2..3..jumpalong) to see who can jump the furthest from the swings and they end up on the double yellow lines of the road.  It would then be this dumbass parent suing the town or the innocent driver that runs their kid over.   So anyways, this crosses my mind every time I drive by the house, but for the most part, I try to keep it to myself (which is challenging in itself).  I was trying, anyways, until last week when again, I was driving through my hometown and saw probably the most ridiculous thing ever.  This family set up an up ground pool in their front yard.  ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?  What the hell has this world come to when people think that it is appropriate to do things like this.  I mean seriously what are people thinking?  It’s not like we live in freaking Compton where it could be dangerous to let your kids go to one of the many town pools or playgrounds.  Not only that, but these poor kids are actually going to grow up thinking this type of behavior is normal and acceptable.

About erinHasThoughts

I just started eHT in January of 2011, and I'm shocked and humbled that people read it! For some reason it seems like I am always in the most ridiculous situations and witness things only seen in movies, so I like to share my experiences with all of you. Thanks for reading! xo
