A life to remember
Today I would like to take some time to honor a very special woman, Barbara Reuter. I have known Barb for over 10 years, and throughout all of this time, there was never a dull moment. Although her life was way too short, the lessons she has taught her children (and me) still ring clear. She was a woman of no fear. She was always encouraging everyone to follow their dreams, even if they were scary or unknown. She was a believer in taking advantage of opportunities that were placed in front of you. She never seemed like she was afraid of anything. She loved to travel, and first hand I can tell you that she was fun to travel with. I’ll never forget a 10 day trip to Hilton Head Island I went on with her and Stef…we may have caused a little bit of a commotion…but it’s probably fine. Barb was so animated and really let us grow into ourselves. She was caring and loving, but also turned a blind eye when she needed to (Come on guys, do you REALLY believe she always thought we were having intense ping pong games?!). That being said, she was also quick to reel us back in when we were getting a little too wild…those stories go on for days…haha. The way that Barb lived her life to the fullest encouraged everyone around her to have the courage to do that in their own lives as well.
Barb will definitely be missed today, and everyday, but I am touched that I could have known her at her best and be able to keep the wonderful memories I have of her for a lifetime.
